644 Mr. Stagg asked the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation if his Department has a free telephone number, 1890, for the convenience of the public; and, if so, the action, if any, that has been taken to bring this service to public notice. [8731/98]

Under its recently published quality customer service action plan, my Department is committed to implementing the 1890 service during 1998. I can assure the Deputy that when the service is operational, notice will be given to the public.
