Vol. 489 No. 6

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Bernard Allen

Question:

646 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation the reason the initial allocation of £5,000 has not been paid to an organisation (details supplied) in view of the fact that it submitted the relevant documentation on 10 December 1997. [8943/98]

A grant of £70,000 was allocated to Mayfield Community Sports Complex in August 1997 under the sports capital programme. In line with standard procedures, payment of the grant is subject to the complex providing specific documentation and information confirming that the development complies with the terms and conditions of the programme. While some documentation was submitted in December 1997 and January 1998, further information is required before payment of the grant can be made. My Department will write to the complex shortly outlining the outstanding documentation and information required and when this is submitted and found to be in order, payment will be made.
