683 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Education and Science when funds will be made available to Grennan College, County Kilkenny, to carry out essential repairs under the six recommendations and costings put forward by the college; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [8641/98]

An application for repair and refurbishment at Grennan College, Thomastown, has been received in the planning and building unit of my Department.

Officials have contacted County Kilkenny Vocational Education Committee to seek additional information. When this information is received the application will be given every consideration.

684 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will make a decision in relation to funding for essential repairs at Ormond College, Kilkenny, in view of the fact that a fire occurred at the college recently caused by the poor repair of the electrical fuse board and a costed work programme has been submitted to the Department; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [8642/98]

A decision will be made on the provision of funding for repairs at Ormonde College, Kilkenny, when the information sought from the vocational education committee in relation to the proposed works is made available to officials in the planning and building unit of my Department.
