Question:193 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources the plans, if any, he has to sanction funding for a slipway at Killala, County Mayo, to enable boat launching. [9246/98]

Killala harbour is the responsibility of Mayo County Council. The local authority has not, to date, made any proposal to my Department for financial support towards the provision of a slipway at Killala.
My Department has, however, received an application from the council for financial support for dredging of the anchorage area at Killala. This request is being considered in the context of the limited funding available for harbour development.
