Vol. 489 No. 6

Written Answers. - School Staffing.

Liz McManus

Question:

737 Ms McManus asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will ensure that St. Ernan's Boys National School, Rathnew, County Wicklow, retains the teacher it is due to lose at the end of this school year in view of the fact that it will have over the required enrolment number in September 1998; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [9151/98]

Staffing arrangements for primary schools for the school year 1998-99 have not yet been finally agreed. When these arrangements are finalised, I have asked officials of my Department to review the position of St. Ernan's Boys National School and to contact the board of management directly in this matter and I will keep the Deputy informed of developments.
