Question:

234 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Defence the number of army personnel who attended university in each of the years from 1994 to 1997; the number who graduated; the number who graduated who are in the Department of Defence, either in the Army or Naval Services. [8822/98]

The number of Defence Force personnel who attended university and the number who graduated in each of the years 1994 to 1997 is shown in the following table:

All those who graduated to date are Army personnel. There are currently six Naval Service personnel attending University, the first of whom is due to graduate in the year 2000.
