Vol. 489 No. 6

Written Answers. - Installation Aid.

Liam Aylward

Question:

269 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will honour the commitment given to accept applications under the installation aid scheme submitted to Teagasc offices prior to the suspension of the scheme; if he will have arrangements made to have those applications processed in view of the fact that some applicants are concerned they will shortly be outside the age limit condition governing this scheme; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [8703/98]

The position regarding applications not fully processed by Teagasc prior to the suspension of the scheme of installation aid is being examined in the context of drawing up the new scheme. The age qualification is determined by the applicant's age at the date of setting-up on the farm, not the date of application under the scheme.
