Vol. 489 No. 7

Written Answers. - Registration of Title.

Michael Ring

Question:

168 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when the Land Commission will resolve a problem with an undivided moiety for a person (details supplied) in County Mayo who had swapped land with the commission in 1961 but never received the proper title to same; if the application for squatters rights title could be forwarded to the person in view of the fact that it was promised several months ago; and if he will give a full report on the progress of this matter. [9571/98]

According to Land Commission records the undivided moiety referred to in the question formed part of a large re-arrangement scheme operated by the Land Commission in 1961. The moiety was vested by the Land Commission on 20 May 1969 in the name of the individual's predecessor in title and was subsequently registered on the folio now held in the name of the individual. It is assumed, therefore, that the Deputy is referring to registration of the remaining undivided moiety which does not seem to have involved the Land Commission. Registration of this moiety would appear to be a private matter and is one in which the individual should consider consulting his solicitor.
