Question:

120 Mr. Naughten asked the Minister for Defence the role of the Irish military personnel stationed at UN headquarters, New York. [9280/98]

At present there are two officers of the Permanent Defence Force on loan to the United Nations secretariat at its headquarters in New York. Both are attached to the Department of Peacekeeping Operations, one as a personnel officer, and the other as a supply officer.
