Written Answers - Naval Vessel Equipment.
The contract for the construction and supply of the new fishery protection patrol vessel, due for delivery in September 1999, does not provide for the provision of armaments. Following delivery, the vessel will be equipped with the appropriate level of armaments commensurate with its primary role of fishery protection duties. No final decision has been made as to the level of armaments required.
