Vol. 490 No. 2

Written Answers - Flood Relief.

Michael Ring

Question:

162 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Finance the compensation and relief schemes, if any, sanctioned by the Office of Public Works in the past three years; and the projects, if any, commenced since the flood relief scheme came into operation. [9811/98]

In relation to compensation payments, I again mention that my office did not implement any compensation schemes in the past three years. I refer Deputy Ring to a previous question tabled by him, Question No. 199 of 30 September 1997, Official Report, cols. 1075-76, of 30 September 1997, in which details in relation to humanitarian aid schemes, as opposed to compensation schemes, were furnished to him.

The current status of each of the flood relief schemes sanctioned by the Minister for Finance in the last three years is listed in the following table. Schemes for the remaining areas on the current priority list are at various stages of preparation.
