Vol. 490 No. 2

Written Answers - Tax Rebates.

Ivan Yates

Question:

169 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Finance if an income tax rebate will be payable to former branch managers of employment exchanges and labour exchanges throughout the country; if a person (details supplied) in County Wexford will have her tax rebate issued to her; and, if so, when this will happen. [10065/98]

I am informed by the Revenue Commissioners that the question of whether a rebate of income tax arises depends on the facts in each individual case. I am further informed that the inspector of taxes has written directly to the taxpayer's accountants requesting accounts and computations of tax overpaid and any interest thereon. When these details are received the matter will be dealt with immediately.
