Vol. 490 No. 2

Written Answers - Noise Pollution.

John Gormley

Question:

215 Mr. Gormley asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the plans, if any, he has to introduce noise regulations in relation to car alarms which are an increasing nuisance in residential areas. [9966/98]

I refer the Deputy to Part VI of the Environmental Protection Agency Act, 1992 and the Environmental Protection Agency Act, 1992 (Noise) Regulations, 1994 (S. I. No. 179 of 1994) made thereunder. I have no proposals to make specific regulations in respect of noise arising from car alarms.
