227 Ms Clune asked the Minister for Social, Community and Family Affairs the number of individuals and families who are in receipt of rent subsidy in each health board area; and the cost in each area of providing this subsidy. [9977/98]

It is proposed to take Questions Nos. 226 and 227 together.

An estimate of the total number of recipients currently in receipt of rent supplement in each health board area, and details of the expenditure on rent supplements, under the supplementary welfare allowance scheme, are shown on the attached tabular statement.

Information on the number of individual housing units in each health board area that are benefitting from rent subsidies is not available.
