Vol. 490 No. 2

Written Answers - Citizenship Applications.

Michael Ring

Question:

258 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform when a person (details supplied) will be approved for Irish citizenship in view of the fact that he has been married to an Irish national for five years and they have two children. [9934/98]

The person referred to by the Deputy lodged a declaration accepting Irish citizenship as his post-nuptial citizenship on 17 February 1998. I understand that my Department has recently requested some additional information from the person referred to and that, when this is returned, it should be possible to finalise the declaration.
