317 Mr. Gormley asked the Minister for Education and Science the funding, if any, available to provide Esperanto as a course option at second level educational institutions. [10139/98]
Esperanto is not widely used as a language in second level education in most countries. It is, however, possible that some second level schools may wish to introduce Esperanto to pupils within a transition year programme. If so, they may avail of the additional per capita funding available to schools for pupils in a transition year programme.
