Vol. 490 No. 2

Written Answers - Harbours and Piers.

Dinny McGinley

Question:

94 Mr. McGinley asked the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources the plans, if any, there are to carry out repairs or provide a jetty at Blackrock, Killybegs, County Donegal, in order to facilitate search and rescue boats and other craft which make use of the facilities there; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [9995/98]

The matters referred to by the Deputy will be addressed in the context of overall plans for investment at Killybegs. I have previously confirmed my commitment to seeking the additional funding required to address the development needs of the harbour and I am pursuing the matter as a priority. I propose to bring proposals for funding of an overall development plan for Killybegs to Government shortly.
