Vol. 490 No. 5

Written Answers. - Registration of Title.

Dan Neville

Question:

264 Mr. Neville asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform when registration of title for an estate (details supplied) in County Limerick will be completed in view of the fact that the person has applied for a farm retirement pension. [10448/98]

I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that this dealing was lodged on 17 April 1998. A letter of query was issued to the applicant's solicitors on 30 April 1998 and they were informed, inter alia, that registration will be completed on lodgment of the Land Certificate which was omitted from the documents lodged.

The applicant's solicitors had requested that they urgently be given a dealing number and this has been done. I understand that it is only the allocation of a dealing number and not the completion of the dealing that is a prerequisite to the pension being obtained.

I can confirm that, upon the satisfactory discharge of the queries raised, the Land Registry will do everything possible to ensure a speedy resolution of this application.
