23 Mr. Higgins (Mayo) asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the percentage increase in new and second hand house prices in each of the years from 1990 to 1997, inclusive; the percentage increase in building materials for the same period; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [5516/98]
I propose to circulate in the Official Report a tabular statement setting out the information requested in relation to the increase in house prices and building materials which are, of course, only one element in the range of factors influencing new house prices. I also refer to my reply to Question No. 19 on today's Order Paper in relation to the Government's Action on House Prices announced on 23 April.
