Question:

53 Mrs. B. Moynihan-Cronin asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if he will ensure that areas of urban authorities extended for election purposes will be fully integrated into local urban authorities in advance of the local elections. [10533/98]

Boundary alterations in general are governed by the provisions of Part V of the Local Government Act, 1991, and associated regulations. Under these provisions, it is open to any local authority to make a proposal for a boundary alteration.
