Vol. 490 No. 5

Written Answers. - Departmental Costs.

Nora Owen

Question:

76 Mrs. Owen asked the Taoiseach the costs incurred since July 1997 for public relations and media advice to him, for personal photographs and for any photographic work to cover functions attended by him outside of the normal coverage provided by photographers of local and national papers. [10714/98]

No costs were incurred by me for public relations and media advice since July 1997. This type of advice is normally provided within my Department by the Government Press Secretariat.

The total cost met by my Department for photographs and photographic work for functions attended by me since July 1997 is £6,165.55. The corresponding costs for the previous Taoiseach in 1995 and 1996 were £16,092 and £13,829 respectively.
