Question:

112 Mr. Ellis asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if, further to Parliamentary Question No. 142 of 28 April 1998, he will reply specifically to the question raised regarding the reissuing of cheque to a person (details supplied) in County Leitrim which was requested previously. [10980/98]

The matter of encashment of the cheque for £2,077.12 which was issued to this applicant on 13 January 1997 in repect of his first year payment under REPS is currently being investigated by my Department. The question of issuing a replacement cheque cannot be considered until the investigation is concluded.

Brucellosis reactor and depopulation grants will be processed on receipt of the tax clearance certificate from the person named.

Brucellosis reactor and depopulation grants have been processed and will be paid to the herdowner in question shortly.

115 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will receive part payments in relation to sheep headage, cattle headage and suckler cow grants. [10983/98]

Arrangements have been put in place in the area aid unit for the examination of all outstanding cases within the next few weeks. Within this process, priority is being given to applicants for whom payments are outstanding.
