Vol. 490 No. 7

Written Answers. - Garda Station Staff.

John Perry

Question:

213 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if, further to Parliamentary Question No. 616 of 21 April 1998 regarding the typist for Ballymote Garda station, County Sligo, he will reconsider the decision in view of the fact that this typist works in the super-intendent's office, there is a large volume of work and Ballymote is a district area serving all of the outlying stations in Riverstown, Bunninadden, Gurteen, Tubbercurry, Aclare and Collooney; if an additional typist will be appointed; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11346/98]

I am informed by the Garda authorities that there is insufficient work for another typist in Ballymote Garda station. I am also informed that there is no backlog of work in the station.
