Finance (No. 2) Bill, 1998: Financial Resolutions.

I move the following Resolutions:

That provision be made in the Act giving effect this Resolution for the capital gains tax treatment on the disposal of certain development land.

That the provisions of the Tax Acts relating to relief in respect of interest on——

(a) borrowed money employed in the purchase, improvement and repair of premises, and

(b) loans applied to acquire interests in companies and partnerships, be amended in the manner and to the extent provided for the Act giving effect to this Resolution.

That provision be made in the Act giving effect to this Resolution for amending the Headings "CONVEYANCE or TRANSFER on sale of any property other than stocks or marketable securities or a policy of insurance or a policy of life insurance" and "LEASE" in the First Schedule (as amended by the Finance Act, 1970, and subsequent enactments) to the Stamp Act, 1891, in the manner and to the extent specified in the Act so giving effect.
