Vol. 491 No. 3

Written Answers. - Disabled Drivers Scheme.

P. J. Sheehan

Question:

244 Mr. Sheehan asked the Minister for Finance when a person (details supplied) in County Cork will receive a refund of VAT under the handicapped persons scheme on the purchase of a special designed car. [11990/98]

I have been informed by the Office of the Revenue Commissioners, who administer this scheme, that they have not received an application or inquiry in connection with tax relief under the Disabled Drivers and Disabled Passengers (Tax Concessions) Regulations, 1994, from the person referred to by the Deputy.

However, an application form for relief, under the regulations, together with the relevant public notice have been issued to the person concerned. Any further information may be obtained from the Central Repayments Office, Coolshannagh, Monaghan, telephone 047-82 800.
