Vol. 491 No. 3

Written Answers. - Housing Aid for the Elderly.

Michael Ring

Question:

272 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health and Children when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will have repair work carried out to her house under the special housing aid for the elderly scheme in view of the fact she paid her contribution towards the costs in mid November 1997 and has heard nothing since. [11694/98]

As the Deputy is aware, the housing aid scheme for the elderly in the Mayo area is administered by the Western Health Board on behalf of the Department of the Environment and Local Government.

I have asked the chief executive officer of the Western Health Board to investigate this case as a matter of urgency and respond directly to the Deputy with the board's findings.
