Vol. 491 No. 3

Written Answers. - Health Services.

Bernard Allen

Question:

275 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason a person (details supplied) in County Cork was discharged from St. Finbarr's Hospital by the Southern Health Board in view of the fact that he is over 70 years of age and his wife is ill and cannot cope. [11746/98]

As the Deputy may be aware, the provision of health services in the Cork area is the responsibility is in the first instance of the Southern Health Board.

I have asked the chief executive officer of the Southern Health Board to investigate this case as a matter of urgency and respond directly to the Deputy with the board's findings.
