331 Mr. Hayes asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the plans, if any, he has to establish a monitoring unit within his Department to assess the impact of recent Government proposals to reduce house price inflation; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11649/98]
My Department will continue to monitor house prices on an ongoing basis and will be considering arrangements to improve the information available in this area in line with the recommendations of the house prices study, An Economic Assessment of Recent House Price Developments. However, I have no proposals to establish any new monitoring unit for this purpose.
