342 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if he will give a commitment to the people of north Mayo that he will sanction funding in 1998 to provide a water supply in view of the fact that they have never had a proper supply. [11849/98]
A preliminary report on the Erris regional water supply scheme — extension to the Mullet Peninsula — which will serve the area in question has been submitted to my Department. Given the high level of commitments under the water and sewerage services investment programme, I cannot say when it may be possible to approve the scheme.
