381 Mr. Quinn asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands the progress to date in ensuring that each agency within her remit is year 2000 compliant; the cost of work done so far; the estimated cost of full compliance; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [11790/98]
The achievement of year 2000 compliance for bodies under the aegis of my Department is primarily a matter for the bodies themselves.
A committee has been established within my Department charged with achieving year 2000 compliance. The committee's role includes the monitoring of and reporting on year 2000 compliance within these various bodies. A survey has been carried out to ascertain their current year 2000 status, their plans for achieving compliance, where necessary, and progress to date. The results of this survey are not to hand.
