I propose to take Questions Nos. 413 to 416, inclusive, together.

I have been informed by the Garda authorities that the Garda Síochána incurred expenditure of £221,404.22 in performing duty in the environs of Croke Park during 1997 involving 1,706 gardaí.

A total amount of £192,551.94 was received from the GAA in 1997 in respect of additional expenditure incurred by duties of a non-public nature performed by 759 members of An Garda Síochána inside Croke Park.

In relation to the 1997 All Ireland Football Final I understand that the Garda incurred expenditure of £20,641.92 in performing duty in the environs of Croke Park on that occasion, utilising 141 Garda personnel.

Again, I have been informed that the sum of £23,011.85 was received from the GAA in respect of additional expenditure incurred for non-public duty performed by 73 Garda personnel inside Croke Park on the same occasion.
