Question:

110 Mr. Quinn asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment the progress to date in ensuring that each agency within her remit is year 2000 compliant; the cost of work done so far; the estimated cost of full compliance; and if she will make a statement on the matter. A committee has been formed in our Department to monitor the progress of the implementation of the year 2000 compliance plan for the Departmental and for the agencies that come under the aegis of our Department.

Each agency is in the course of implementing its year 2000 plan. The agencies are required to provide our Department with a quarterly update on the progress of the implementation of their year 2000 plan. The project manager for year 2000 in the Department evaluates the replies from the agencies and reports to the year 2000 monitoring committee. A breakdown of the cost incurred to-date and the cost of full implementation of year 2000 compliance, by the agencies, under my remit is as follows:
