Vol. 491 No. 3

Written Answers. - Company Investigations.

Michael Ring

Question:

144 Mr. Ring asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment whether the inspector appointed to a mining company (details supplied) has finalised his report; if the report will be published; and the main recommendations and findings of the report. [12224/98]

On 23 October 1997 I appointed Mr. Lyndon MacCann, B.L., as inspector to Bula Resources (Holdings) plc under section 14 of the Companies Act, 1990. The primary purpose of the investigation is to establish the beneficial ownership of certain shareholdings in the company.

Mr. MacCann has indicated to me that his report should be finalised and submitted to me in a matter of weeks. Subject to whatever legal advice I may receive on the content of the report, I intend to publish the inspector's report and make a statement on its content.
