Vol. 491 No. 5

Written Answers. - Registration of Title.

John Perry

Question:

107 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he will have the problems resolved on a file (details supplied) under section 49; if his Department will have it processed in view of the fact that it is ongoing for some time; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12529/98]

I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that this dealing refers to an application under section 49 (i.e. acquisition of title by virtue of long possession) of the Registration of Title Act, 1964 which was lodged on 30 September 1996. I understand that due to their complicated nature, applications under section 49, which require detailed examination of claims for registration as owners, take some time to process. Accordingly, it is not possible to estimate a completion date for the application concerned at this stage.
