170 Mr. Sargent asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if the beef accreditation scheme operated by An Bord Bia is in compliance with EU Directive 45011 or with a former directive; if the latter case, the EU directive to which the scheme conforms; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I assume the Deputy is referring to the beef quality assurance scheme operated by Bord Bia. The operation of quality assurance schemes is a delegated function of the board under An Bord Bia Act, 1994.
