Vol. 492 No. 4

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

John McGuinness

Question:

174 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if his Department will review the case of a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny with a view to paying her ewe premium on 270 ewes in view of the case submitted to the Department and the medical evidence available supporting the case; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14448/98]

This flockowner applied for ewe premium and sheep headage in January 1997. Following a field inspection payment was refused on the basis that the numbers applied on were not maintained. This decision was appealed to the Department and medical evidence was supplied in support of the appeal. This case is now being examined in the Department, it is expected that a decision will be made and the flockowner informed in the very near future.
