192 Mr. Gormley asked the Minister for Health and Children the status of the national environmental health action plan; the Departments involved in its formulation; the other bodies which have been consulted or will be consulted in the formulation of the plan; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I established a working party in June of last year to assist in the development of a national environmental health action plan which will form part of an overall environmental health action plan for Europe.
The working party comprises representatives from the Departments of Agriculture and Food, Enterprise and Employment, Environment and Local Government, Finance, Health and Children, Marine and Natural Resources, Office of Public Works, Public Enterprise and Tourism, Sport and Recreation.
Preparation of a draft plan is at an advanced stage and there will be wide consultation on it before finalisation.
