Vol. 492 No. 4

Written Answers. - Water and Sewerage Schemes.

Andrew Boylan

Question:

252 Mr. Boylan asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the plans, if any, he has to allocate money for the construction of a sewerage and water service for Stradone, County Cavan; if his attention has been drawn to the problem of pollution in adjacent lakes and waterways as a result of the lack of this facility; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14299/98]

A preliminary report for a sewerage scheme for Stradone has been submitted to my Department. Given the high level of commitments under the water and sewerage services investment programme, I cannot say when it may be possible to approve this proposal.
