301 Ms Fitzgerald asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the list, if any, available of the offences for which offenders were sentenced to prison in each of the years 1996 and 1997. [14385/98]

Figures for committals to prison by offence are not yet available for 1996 and 1997. The figures for 1994, which have just been published by my Department, are set out in the following table:—
