351 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Education and Science the number and value of subscriptions to date to the technological educational fund; the tax relief, if any, being accorded to these donations; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14289/98]
To date, no subscriptions have been lodged into the private donations investment account of the Scientific and Technological Education (Investment) Fund.
However, institutions have informed me that the availability of the fund has significantly assisted their private fundraising. As I stated at the launch of the fund, this is one of the intended effects of this initiative.
