Question:

80 Ms Fitzgerald asked the Taoiseach the Acts and provisions of Acts under the auspices of his Department which, as of 1 June 1998, are not in force because a commencement order has not been made; whether it is proposed to make an order in each case; and, if so, when this will be made. [13989/98]

A Bill to establish the National Economic and Social Council and the National Economic and Social Forum on a statutory basis is at an early stage of preparation in my Department. There are no Acts or provisions of Acts within my Department's remit which are awaiting the making of a commencement order.
The Central Statistics Office is currently drafting a statutory instrument relating to the collection of maritime statistics. This instrument is required to implement Council Directive 95/64/EC of 8 December 1995 on statistical returns in respect of carriage of goods and passengers by sea. The text of the instrument is not yet finalised.
