Vol. 492 No. 7

Written Answers. - Commemorative Events.

John Perry

Question:

108 Mr. Perry asked the Taoiseach the position regarding the funding allocation for the Collooney 1798 Commemoration Committee, County Sligo, in view of the importance of 1798 in Collooney and the broad range and inclusive programme of events that the committee has planned; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14933/98]

I am delighted to advise that the Government's 1798 Commemoration Committee, of which I am chairperson, agreed to make funding of £4,000 available to the Collooney 1798 Commemoration Committee to assist with the cost of their commemoration programme, which I was happy to note is both broad-ranging and inclusive.
