184 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for Finance if he will expedite the issue of a tax assessment for a person (details supplied) in County Limerick in view of the fact that the delay is causing difficulties with payment of a higher education grant. [15007/98]

I am informed by the Revenue Commissioners that the inspector of taxes wrote to the taxpayer on 22 June 1998 setting out the details of the tax assessment for the year 1997-98. A computer generated assessment containing the exact same information will issue within two weeks.
