Vol. 492 No. 7

Written Answers. - Health Board Allowances.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

202 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Health and Children if favourable consideration will be given to awarding domiciliary care allowance to children with disabilities under the age of two years; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [15501/98]

Jim O'Keeffe

Question:

225 Mr. J. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Health and Children the cost of extending the domiciliary care allowance to parents in respect of children up to the age of two years. [15089/98]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 202 and 225 together.

The information requested by Deputy O'Keeffe is not readily available in my Department. There have been a number of queries recently, including Deputy Durkan's question, about extending the qualifying age for the domiciliary care allowance to children under two years of age. I have arranged for these queries to be examined in the Department.
