Vol. 492 No. 7

Written Answers. - Driving Tests.

Michael Ring

Question:

246 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the reason a person (details supplied) in County Mayo must apply and re-sit her driving test in view of the fact that she held a full driving licence previously. [14887/98]

The need to take a driving test in this case is because of the longstanding expiry of the person's driving licence and the regulatory requirement that the holder of a driving licence which has expired by more than ten years must pass a driving test before a further full licence may be granted.
