Vol. 492 No. 7

Written Answers. - Parking Regulations.

Tony Gregory

Question:

302 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he will request a report from the Garda authorities regarding parking restrictions at a location (details supplied) in Dublin 7 in view of the fact it was stated by a resident that there are no clearway signs yet parking fines are imposed. [14857/98]

I have no power to remit or mitigate an on the spot fine, a matter which is reserved exclusively to the Garda Commissioner. However, I understand that the Garda authorities are investigating the particular matters raised by the Deputy. I will communicate the outcome to the Deputy in due course.
