Question:318 Mr. Gormley asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he will have an investigation made into the treatment of a person (details supplied) by members of the Garda Síochána; if a number of gardaí from Sundrive Road station, Crumlin, Dublin 12, searched this person's house on 1 May 1998 on foot of a search warrant issued in respect of a different address and removed personal effects from the house on that occasion, if the person concerned subsequently appeared in court; and, if so, the charges brought against him; if he will give an assurance that the person will suffer no further mistreatment as a consequence of having raised this issue with Deputy Gormley and with other Deputies; and if he will make a statement on the standards of treatment he feels would be appropriate in the case of persons in these circumstances.
