353 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will increase the level of funding to the National Youth Federation in order that it can get additional help to cope with the massive increase in the demand for its services; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Due to the high level of ongoing commitments, my Department has not been in a position to increase the level of funding to the National Youth Federation in the current year.
However, additional funding for 1998 is being sought and in the event of such funding becoming available the level of funding support to youth organisations generally will be reviewed.
