Vol. 492 No. 7

Written Answers. - Teacher Remuneration.

Richard Bruton

Question:

359 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Education and Science the reason for the delay in sanctioning a VEC approved recognition of eight years relevant experience outside of education for a person (details supplied) in Dublin 9; and the further information, if any, he requires to sanction the recognition and associated increments. [15171/98]

My Department notified County Dublin VEC on 6 January 1995 that incremental credit was not payable in this case as the previous experience was not deemed relevant to career guidance teaching. This decision was appealed. However, following further consideration of the case, the VEC was notified on 25 February 1997 that there had been no change in the original decision.
