Question:83 Ms O. Mitchell asked the Minister for Education and Science the submission, if any, he has made to the millennium steering group; the contents of this submission; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14956/98]
The Millennium Steering Group, which will be chaired by my colleague, Minister of State, Deputy Séamus Brennan, has not yet commenced its work. Accordingly, the question of making submissions to the group, and of holding discussions with the group, has not yet arisen.
However, I am pleased to inform the Deputies that my Department has nominated an official at Principal level to represent the Department on the group. As soon as the group decides on its method of working, my Department will be happy to contribute fully to the work of the group.
